Materials

Thanks to the expertise of our technicians, “Mucci Lattonerie” offers a wide range of outdoor roofing for the home but also for work activities). Our products are made of durable materials to ensure the safety of the area chosen for roofing and are designed following the best quality standards for outdoor roofing production.

Steel

For more than half a century, stainless steels have ensured technically and economically sound, long-lasting results in their applications in construction sheet metalwork worldwide, without aggravating work, while at the same time guaranteeing absolute absence of maintenance or replacement, together with a good aesthetic appearance. They respond adequately to the conditions of use in the industry, thanks to their qualities of resistance to corrosion by atmospheric agents, as well as to their particularly high mechanical properties, which allow the use of much thinner thicknesses, compared to those adopted with other types of metals.

Prepainted steel

A prepainted steel product generally consists of three elements: a steel substrate with a zinc-based coating, a layer of paint called a primer, and a surface thickness of paint called a finish coat. The choice of substrate directly affects the application of the prepainted steel product and its corrosion resistance. If the product is to have high corrosion resistance, a high zinc thickness is preferred. However, thinner, more flexible and crack-resistant zinc-based coatings are recommended if the installation is to sustain severe deformations.

Aluminum

Aluminum is a metal, characterized by high lightness, versatile and flexible. It is mainly used in the form of pure aluminum alloys, combined with other elements in order to improve the metal’s mechanical properties and increase its resistance to corrosion. The products of the future are reflected in the characteristics of aluminum: light yet strong, easy to work with and suitable for the full range of applications, providing economic and ecological benefits through production efficiency and low maintenance costs.

Aluminum composite

Aluminum composite is an innovative material widely used in sheet metal work for a wide range of architectural and design applications due to its light weight, versatility, and strength. It consists of two outer layers of aluminum joined by a central core, usually made of a plastic material such as polyethylene. This multilayer structure gives the material excellent mechanical properties, increasing rigidity and stability while maintaining low weight. In addition, aluminum composite offers high weather resistance and an aesthetically pleasing surface, making it ideal for facades, cladding and decorative panels.

Prepainted aluminum

Prepainted aluminum products, are produced through a continuous painting process, in which the aluminum is degreased, chemically pretreated and painted. The result is a product with high performance characteristics, characterized by high lightness, versatile and flexible, appreciated by its availability in different colors to meet a wide variety of architectural requirements.

Cor – Ten

Cor-Ten is a particularly weather-resistant type of steel, frequently used in sheet metalwork for architectural and design applications. Due to its unique properties, this material is highly valued for both its high durability and its distinctive aesthetics. Cor-Ten develops a protective oxide patina on the surface that not only provides a rustic, modern appearance but also protects the metal from corrosion, making it ideal for structures exposed outdoors. This steel is often used to create facades, cladding, sculptures and furniture accessories, adding value and personality to any project.

Iron

Iron in sheet metal work is used to make gutters, flashings, downspouts and roofing, protecting buildings from the elements. Mainly galvanized and painted iron is used, which is corrosion-resistant and durable. Because of its strength and ease of fabrication, iron is ideal for creating custom components and load-bearing structures. Galvanizing and other surface treatments improve weather resistance. Aesthetically versatile, it blends into various architectural contexts, adding a solid and functional appearance to buildings, both civil and industrial.

Galvanized sheets

The zinc coating gives the material greater corrosion resistance, making it ideal for outdoor environments exposed to rain and moisture. Galvanized sheets are lightweight, easy to work with and shape, allowing the creation of custom elements. They also provide durability and low maintenance, offering an economical and versatile solution for protecting and finishing roofs and facades.

Lead

Traditional widely used in tinsmithing, valued for its unique properties and long service life. It is particularly suitable for applications in roofing, siding, and architectural detailing due to its high malleability and resistance to weathering. It is often used in historic buildings and restorations because of its ability to retain its original aesthetic characteristics and provide excellent durability over the years.

Copper

Copper is valued for its durability, resistance to corrosion, and ability to develop a protective patina ranging from brown to green over time. In addition to being aesthetically valuable, this material is malleable and suitable for custom machining. The use of copper ensures long life for installed elements, requires little maintenance, and enhances the aesthetic appearance of historic and modern buildings.

Te-Cu

This type of copper, enriched with a small percentage of tellurium, offers greater mechanical strength and improved processability than pure copper. Te-Cu is ideal for complex machining, such as bending and soldering, while maintaining copper’s excellent anti-corrosive properties. It is especially popular for precision and durability projects, providing superior performance in mechanically demanding environments.

Zinc titanium

The addition of titanium and copper to zinc improves dimensional stability and mechanical strength, making them suitable for extreme climates. Zinc-titanium sheets are malleable, ideal for intricate architectural details and maintenance-free. Over time, they develop a natural patina that further protects them and lends an elegant and uniform aesthetic to buildings.
